Yay It's October !! Time to start decorating and cracking down on costume planning. I don't think I am having a party this year but I might be going to one and I am still celebrating for sure ! Yesterday I pulled my dollhouse out of the closet and decided it needs some attention . I started it a couple years ago with the intention of making it a run down old haunted dollhouse , which I am still going to make it pretty creepy but I want to stay true to it's Victorianess ( not a word? ) I don't want to tear it up to much. Old Victorian houses are creepy anyway.
It looks Orange and Black but is actually very Dark Blue. Not Sure if I will keep these colors or not. but I kinda like it.
I bought these off of etsy from the lilwitchy shop http://www.etsy.com/shop/LilWitchy a few years ago ...so friggin cute ! A witches hutch with all kinds of potions and witchy goodies.There is even a little mushroom in there..
I told you I might not finish my doll before I started something else ! but she is coming along , almost done ! I have been fussing with her hands quite a bit and had to wait for them to dry, then I had to cut and hem my curtains for the fabric I want.
She is a little creepy too I guess , I am not really going for creepy when it comes to dolls (although I will have to make a little witchy for my doll house) but it always kinda happens that way . I do like the style that seems to be emerging. My dolls so far seem to be kinda teetering on creepy and cute. I don't really want to do horror or goth dolls, It's to easy to make things bloody and dark. I don't want to do pretty & typical dolls , it's to easy to make things pretty and typical .They are not really young or old either. I dunno , this is just what I know how to do.I really try to lean more towards a folky kind of style because that's what I like, but they still come out lookin all emo lol .One of my friends told me one time that the stuff I make is best described as folk funky. I'll take that, heh heh. I'm going to try to finish her today and then I am cookin some ribs and having a bonfire with my friends !
